Trust between parties
EveryonePlans can hold a payment in escrow until an agreed condition is met, release it with a recorded reason, and carry a dispute process for the cases where the two sides do not agree — so money moving between parties who do not yet trust each other has a process rather than an argument.
01THE PROBLEM
Why this is worth having
Any arrangement where one party pays before the other delivers runs on trust that has not been earned yet. Deposits get taken and not refunded, work gets done and not paid for, and the resolution is whoever complains loudest.
02HOW IT WORKS
The mechanism
- A hold is placed against a specific commitment rather than sitting as an unexplained balance.
- Release requires a reason, and the reason is recorded — so there is an account of why money moved.
- A dispute is a first-class record with its own state, not an email thread.
- Everything posts to the same ledger as the rest of the money surface, so held funds are visible rather than floating.
- The same area verifies parties and records who accepted which terms and when — the two things you need when a disagreement turns into a question of what was actually agreed.
- It also carries erasure: a person can ask for their data to be scrubbed and there is a mechanism for it, rather than a promise and a manual delete.
